CAEC has been very helpful in helping me transition from America to China. They helped me find my apartment, switch phone companies and we still meet up to get good food and see the sights. The school has been allowed me to grow as a foreign teacher. It is definitely different from teaching in America. I was able to shadow the previous ESL teacher before he left Beijing. He provided me with a layout of the lesson plan which I am able to add activities of my own. Many people have asked: How do you teach English in China if you do not speak Chinese? Well, teaching English as a second language is not very different from teaching English as a first language. I use a lot of pictures, flash cards, videos and hand motions to help the students understand the meaning of the words. Many of the students have already began to learn to speak English. To make my job easier, I keep a positive attitude and relationship with the Chinese teachers. They help keep the classroom in order as the students may understand them a little better. Especially, since they are new to English sayings such as "repeat after me" or even "sit down, please." Overall, CAEC has been very helpful in assisting me with my journey in Beijing, China.
I'm having a very smooth transition thanks 100% to your team and your placing me with such a great school. I really can't speak to how grateful I am of such a great job everyone has done helping me, including you. You guys are superb, and I am totally going to repay all the kindness and extra help on your end and the school's end with doing an equally great job at each and every task I am assigned. The staff here couldn't be nicer."
