HOME STAY PROGRAMS

One of the most important elements of our long term programs is the relationship you create with your host family. This relationship will be one the most enduring elements of your experience, as well as being critical to the overall satisfaction of your time abroad. For these reasons, CAEC is diligent in providing students with ideal homestay experiences.

Host Family Screening Process:

All host family placements are handled directly by CAEC to ensure that everyone is satisfied with all arrangements. In addition, every student is assigned a personal CAEC coordinator who communicates regularly with the student and family to ensure mutual satisfaction. CAEC host families are screened through the following process:

  • Each host family completes a detailed application and provides references.

  • CAEC conducts a home visit and interviews host family members.

  • References are checked.

  • A detailed criminal background check is conducted.

Living Arrangements

In addition to providing a safe and friendly environment, several other items are also provided by your host family, including:

  • A room with your own bed and furniture for your clothes and personal items;

  • A space where you can complete your homework;

  • Breakfast and dinner on every school day;

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner on weekends and holidays;

  • A safe location
